We’re now reaching the end of the semester and will be having our final events tomorrow, Tuesday May 6th.
We’ll be having the anticipated Jane Bussmann show at 5:00 in HSCI 105, closely followed by our annual IST banquet at 6:30 at Sophy’s Fine Thai & Cambodian Cuisine. For more information on the banquet, click here.
Tomorrow March 18th, will be our next general meeting at 5pm in SSPA 106. As always, there will be free food!
Dr. Marcus will be coming in as our guest speaker! He will be discussing the topic “Financing Development in Madagascar and The Congo: Tales of Disaster Rolling Down the Value Chain.”
ISSA will also be taking part in Syrian Solidarity Week for Tuesday’s Ultimate Bake-Off (tomorrow!). Look for us in front of the KIN building, by the international crossroads sign, from 12-2pm. We will be selling Vegan baked goods (yum!), so be sure to come and show your support!
We’ve got exciting things to offer at the meeting tomorrow! Just a quick reminder, the meeting starts at 5pm in SS/PA 106.
At the beginning of the meeting we will have an ISSA alum, Mariam Hakim, coming to speak about an ISSA volunteer opportunity in the community. Our guest speaker will be followed by a special screening of the documentary I’m Not Leaving; a 40 minute documentary on Carl Wilkens’ experiences during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. With permission from Carl Wilkens, ISSA has been allowed access to this documentary that has not yet been released to the public.
