About ISSA

CSU Long Beach’s International Studies Student Association was founded in the Fall of 2008 by Maggie Woods and Krystal Windsor Burnett—two ambitious International Studies majors who saw the potential our students had to offer as a university association. They wanted to help our student body unite! Our membership has grown slowly but surely, and we have had the opportunity to support international philanthropic organizations such as US Campaign for Burma, Invisible Children, the Le Petit Train School in Haiti, and the US Fund for UNICEF.

All of our events are open to both majors and non-majors who are interested in talking about and learning about the world.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
