In other news, this week in lieu of our traditional general meeting setting, we will be going to the CLASC Student & Faculty Mixer – “A Trip Around the World” at the Soroptimist House on campus. It will be an evening of great food and great company, giving all students and faculty from within our college a chance to meet each other and expand our networks. Go straight to the Soroptimist House, and we will see you then!

What: Social for College of Liberal Arts students & faculty
When: this Wednesday, September 21
Time: 4-6pm
Where: Soroptimist House (on Beach Drive by Nursing Dept.)
Cost: Free!

Next Wednesday, ISSA will have our first Social Night. We are incorporating Social Nights into our calendar this semester so that 1) students can experience an aspect of a different culture, 2) we can give members the opportunity to meet outside of the regular classroom setting, and 3) students who cannot make normal meeting hours will have a chance to actively participate in the club. Our first social night will be a culinary experience, and we hope you can all attend! We are organizing carpools and will be meeting at SSPA-107 at 5pm to leave from campus.

What: Dinner at a local Indian restaurant for ISSA members and non-members
When: next Wednesday, September 28
Time: 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Ashoka the Great, 18614 Pioneer Blvd, Artesia 90701
Cost: between $10 & $15 (final price TBA)

We hope you can join us for these next two great opportunities to better acquaint yourself with your fellow internationally-minded 49ers! After these two awesome events, ISSA will get back to the grind with interesting open forums discussing international education on our very own campus!
